Woah, Woah, Woah… Ladies, Please.

There seems to be a war of words brewing on Twitter tonight, post-UFC 118 between Jenna Jameson (@jennajameson) and Jennifer Mir (@Mrs_Mir). Check it out:

It seems to have started when this guy @leharts (whoever the hell he is) tweeted:
Loves it when the UFC #wags (wives and girlfriends) talk mma go on @Mrs_Mir @Jennajameson

Jennifer Mir then tweeted:
@Leharts does Jenna really talk mma……she should stick to porn well I guess it is kind of grappling lol

Jenna responded:
@Mrs_Mir @Leharts you should stick to sucking your fat ass husbands cock…. Oh, and hit the treadmill yourself

Jennifer Mir:
@jennajameson your just mad because his cock is the only one you can’t suck….oh yeah and my husband is the MAIN event

Jenna:
Listen everyone, me and mrs Mir don’t see eye to eye. She knows why. Plus, she talked shit just now on me, so I retorted.

Jennifer:
Look guys even the classiest of women still have there breaking point…..she is my breaking point
Just so you guys have the background to our little fight ……when Forrest who is Franks training partner and Tito fought
She started screaming because I was cheering for Forrest I wasn’t even being disrespectful I was so pissed but I hold myself Higher than that ……so that’s what started it all

Jenna:
I can’t really reply to Mrs Mir cuz the coward blocked me, so she is just a shit talker… Which is why I called her out in the first place

It goes on from there. Go check their Twitter feeds for the rest.

This Can’t Be Right… Can It?

I don’t usually put too much stock in Dan Wetzel’s reporting, but this is almost crazy enough to be true. Wetzel claims that James Toney will be paid somewhere between $750K and $1 million for UFC 118. We all question the logic of bringing Toney into the octagon (it’s clearly a one-and-done event), but I don’t think any of us realized that he was actually going to get paid Chuck Liddell money. If the UFC pays James Toney $1 million for this fight (which won’t legitimize MMA in boxing fans’ eyes and isn’t garnering the type of mainstream media attention that I’m sure the UFC hoped it would) the entire locker room should go on strike. Also, it doesn’t matter what he used to make for a boxing match. MMA has a different payscale and Toney should be held to it. Read Wetzel’s piece here.

Steroids: Never Not A Problem

The Shane Carwin/steroid list story hasn’t really made the huge splash in the MMA media that it probably should have. Steve Cofield has a nice post over at Yahoo/Cagewriter about just that subject. The bottom line is that most professional athletes use performance enhancers in all sports. We, as a nation, need to form a consensus on performance enhancers and stick with it. The current attitude of it’s-wrong-but-I-still-want-to-see-lots-of-homers-and-knockouts is only going to ruin the business and enjoyment of sports. Team and organization owners want to see athletes excel so that they can sell tickets, and steroid suspensions make that difficult. Fans want to see athletes do amazing things, and steroids provide that. It’s time for a much more honest evaluation of performance enhancers, and of our attitudes about sports and entertainment.
